Wichita State Claims 2012-13 All-Sports Crown
Wichita State is the 2012-13 Missouri Valley Conference all-sports champion. It marks the seventh crown in the past 10 years for Wichita State, which has a league best 19 all-time. WSU finished second in the all-sports trophy race in 2011-12.

Valley Announces 2013-14 Championships Calendar
Commissioner Doug Elgin has announced a list of dates and sites for the various Missouri Valley Conference sports championships for the 2013-14 athletic season. All site awards are subject to ratification at the Missouri Valley Conference Presidents’ Council meeting, which takes place May 28.

Missouri Valley Conference Adds Loyola University Chicago
For the first time in 20 years the Missouri Valley Conference is adding an institution, as the MVC President’s Council unanimously voted to extend a membership invitation to Loyola University Chicago, and the Ramblers will begin full participation in all of its sponsored sports effective for the 2013-14 season.

Shockers, Bluejays Ranked in Final Poll
For the first time since 1979, the Missouri Valley Conference has a team in the Top 5 of a final national basketball poll. Wichita State (5) and Creighton (21) represent the MVC in the final USA Today Coaches poll, released April 9. The Bluejays were also ranked No. 23 in the final Associated Press poll, announced prior to post-season action.

Simms-Edwards Earns Top Honor
Bradley senior guard Dyricus Simms-Edwards (Peoria, Ill./Washington Community H.S.) continues to collect hardware for his defensive play this past season. Simms-Edwards Tuesday was named the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Defensive Player of the Year.

Shockers Battle Top-Seeded Louisville To the End
Wichita State’s miraculous run through the NCAA Tournament ended Saturday night one step shy of college basketball’s grandest prize as the Shockers fell to top-seeded Louisville, 72-68, in the Final Four at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

Shockers Highlight 2013 CBE Hall of Fame Classic
Wichita State, playing in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Final Four® this weekend in Atlanta, will join Brigham Young, DePaul and Texas at Sprint Center for the championship rounds of the 2013 CBE Hall of Fame Classic November 25 and 26.
