Shockers Secure Regular-Season Title

Wichita State senior center Garrett Stutz picked up his 10th double-double of the season, leading the No. 24 Shockers to a 73-58 win against Missouri State Wednesday at Charles Koch Arena.

Stutz led all players with 21 points, 10 rebounds and finished 4-for-4 from three-point range in the Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball win.

The Shockers improved to 23-4 overall and 14-2 in conference play with the win that allowed first-place Wichita State to clinch at least a share of the league title. Wichita State, most assuredly, will be the State Farm MVC Tournament top seed, as it currently holds a decisive edge in the tiebreaker with Creighton (non-conference schedule strength). Should the teams finish tied, the NCSS numbers will be taken from next Saturday's RPI Report figures.

It's the first regular-season title for Wichita State since 2006, and its seventh overall crown.
